Celebrate WDM History October 21

The West Des Moines Historical Society and West Des Moines Community Schools, along with the City of West Des Moines, will celebrate the end of the city’s 125th birthday with day full of history Saturday, October 20 from 9am-1pm at Jordan Creek Elementary and Bennett School, 4001 Fuller Road, West Des Moines.

The State Historical Museum’s “Iowa History 101” traveling museum will open 9am-1pm, showcasing stories of Iowa’s past and artifacts from the museum’s collection.

Students from Indian Hills Junior High and Stilwell Junior High are creating exhibits featuring legendary people and events in West Des Moines History, and you’ll be able to see their work from at Jordan Creek Elementary.

The Bennett School will be part of the celebration as well, with face painting, free popcorn, donut bobbing, information about West Des Moines history, Professor Von Air and his amazing balloon creations from 10am-noon and much more!
