Videographer/Editor

The West Des Moines Historical Society is hiring for the contracted position of Videographer/Editor for the 2019/2020 Iowa Files presentations (see schedule below.)

Contractor must provide own equipment, including video camera, microphones and other necessary equipment needed to tape & edit monthly programs, held the 3rd Sunday of the month from September through May, at the West Des Moines Public Library.

Programs generally run for one hour and can include audience q&a. Some presenters utilize PowerPoint slide shows which would need to be integrated into the final edits. The final edited programs must include an intro graphic with the name of the program and presenter, the date and the WDMHS and Friends of the West Des Moines Public Library. Final graphic can include videographer’s name. All finished programs will be uploaded to YouTube and other platforms and become the property of the West Des Moines Historical Society.

The West Des Moines Historical Society is presently accepting applications for Docents. This is a contracted position to present tours of the Jordan House and Bennett School primarily Monday-Thursday.
