Jordan House tours are offered Friday and Sunday at 11am & 1pm.
Jordan House tours will require a ticket purchase in advance.

School groups, private groups and virtual tours of the Jordan House Museum and Bennett School Museum can be scheduled Monday-Thursday and other times, based on staffing. Please call (515) 225-1286 for more information.

West Des Moines Historical Society Docent Application

Docents are public-facing tour guides who provide visitors with a unique historical experience. Guided tours are offered weekly on Friday and Sunday, and private, group and school tours are scheduled by appointment year-round. Docents must be able to walk and talk for up to 90 minutes per tour and create a safe learning environment for our visitors while upholding the rules and policies of the West Des Moines Historical Society.

Docents are independent contractors and are paid $25 per tour. Successful candidates must be available to work Sundays, and weekday availability is a plus.
