Zeljka Krvavica, a case manager with the Iowa Bureau of Refugee Services, was born and raised in Sarajevo in what was then Yugoslavia and came to Iowa as a refugee in 1993. Today, she is active in helping refugees find their way to Iowa. She is a passionate advocate for these very vulnerable families and enthusiastic about the numerous contributions new Iowans make to our communities.
We’ll explore the history of immigration in Iowa and what contributions these new citizens have made to our communities.
