Jordan Scholars Kicks off 5th Year!
August 29, 2019 2:29 pmThe 5th year of the James Jordan Scholars Leadership Institute kicked off Wednesday, August 28 at West Des Moines City Hall. This year 18 Scholars from area high schools will learn from community leaders about the ups and downs they met on their way to becoming integral parts of the Central Iowa community.
Scholars were welcomed by City Councilperson Russ Trimble, who outlined his rules for leadership, including inclusiveness, the commitment to service and the importance of understanding all sides of every issue.Scholars jumped right into the project management aspect of leadership by working with Tim Johnson, Adjunct Professor at Drake University School of Business and Public Administration to develop new products based on yellow pages advertising.Welcome to the Jordan Scholars Class of 2019/2020!
