May 13, 2026: Graduation
The 2025/26 Jordan Scholars graduated from the program Wednesday, May 13. All attendees received certificates of completion and a Raygun “History Happens Here” shirt. Additionally, 6 Scholars were awarded $500 scholarships, thanks to support from West Bank.

Visit with the Iowa Legislature
The Scholars were honored to visit with members of the 2026 Iowa Legislature, who took time from their busy schedules to discuss the processes for crating laws, their daily responsibities and the impact the Iowa Legislative Black and Brown Caucus has had since its formation in 2018.
Scholars met with House Minority Leader Brian Meyer, as well as Mary Madison, Elinor Levin and Renee Hardman, Iowa’s first African American woman to serve in the state Senate.
