Jordan House tours are offered Friday and Sunday at 11am & 1pm.
Jordan House tours will require a ticket purchase in advance.

School groups, private groups and virtual tours of the Jordan House Museum and Bennett School Museum can be scheduled Monday-Thursday and other times, based on staffing. Please call (515) 225-1286 for more information.

West Des Moines Historical Society Docent Application

Docents are public facing tour guides who provide visitors a unique historical experience. Guided tours are offered weekly on Friday and Sunday, and private, group and school tours are scheduled by appointment year round. Docents must be able to walk and talk for up to 90 minutes per tour and create a safe learning environment for our visitors while upholding the rules and policies of the West Des Moines Historical Society.

Docents are independent contractors and are paid $25 per tour. Successful candidates must be available to work Sundays, and weekday availability is a plus.
