Jordan Scholars Kicks off 5th Year!

The 5th year of the James Jordan Scholars Leadership Institute kicked off Wednesday, August 28 at West Des Moines City Hall. This year 18 Scholars from area high schools will learn from community leaders about the ups and downs they met on their way to becoming integral parts of the Central Iowa community.

The Iowa Files, an educational history lecture series, returns in 2019/2020. Free and open to the public, thanks to the generosity of West Des Moines Historical Society members, the Iowa Arts Council and the Friends Foundation of the West Des Moines Library, this 8 month series showcases interesting people and events in Iowa history.
