Wednesday, May 12 was graduation day for the 2020/2021 James Jordan Scholars. This year’s class showed tremendous flexibility as we worked to provide meaningful experiences with our partners, including West Bank, the Historical Society of Iowa, City of West Des Moines and the Iowa Legislature. A short video with the Scholars and featuring selections from the winning essays can be seen here.
The 6th class of the James Jordan Scholars Leadership Institute launched Wednesday, August 26 with a welcome from West Des Moines City Manager Tom Hadden at the WDM City Council Chambers. 18 students representing 6 metro schools will have the opportunity to learn about leadership and opportunities from community mentors in this 8 month program.
